Riesling from a great historic terroir in Alsace, migmatic granite, sandy, poor and superficial with a contrasting climate, hot during the day and cold at night, conferring maturity and chiseled acidity. Aged on fine lees for 18 months in century-old oak barrels, and a few grams of residual sugars that the aging had not erased. Mother Nature has thus awakened, charming this cuvée with a magnificent chirping, bringing freshness and lightness to this great wine! To decant or enjoy as is, depending on your open-mindedness ;-)

The place name of Schlossberg (castle hill) was identified as early as the 14th century: at that time, land transaction documents already referred to it. From the end of the 19th century, Schlossberg wines were sold in bottles from the Rhine. In the 20th century, recognition of the site, and then of the Grand Cru, took place in several decisive stages: first in 1928, the winegrowers established harvest rules by means of a written agreement. This unprecedented approach also earned Schlossberg the distinction of being the first place name, and the only one at the time, to benefit in 1975 from the official Alsace Grand Cru appellation. This agreement was then enshrined by the 1992 decree, definitively attesting to its identity as a Grand Cru.
